Meet the best you in the best time.

    It is not possible to define Yoga, just like you can not define God. Yoga originated from a series of spiritual practice in India. It has the history of six to seven thousand years. With the evolution of human race, Yoga is showered by time, and there are different branches of Yoga now. Such as Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Flow Yoga, Bikram Yoga, Iyengar Yoga. No matter what branch we practice, the ultimate aim is to purify our heart.


In the tradition of India, there is a crucial god Shiva. He is one of the most interesting gods. He is described as the God of Dance. His nature is mysterious, and he can change forms. The is a new moon on his head which represents knowledge and mysterious fantasy. There is a third eye on his forehead. His three eyes each represents the sun, the moon, the fire and also represents the past, the future, and the present. His third eye is incredibly powerful; it can shoot fire that can destroy all with one glimpse. He is the God of Destroy and Creation. He is covered with ashes, and he can swallow the poison which can destroy the world. He is the God of Yoga in Indian legend, and he is called the Great Yogi. His wife is the beautiful goddess of snow mountain, Parwati. In the legend, one day while Shiva was telling his wife the secret of Yoga, she fell asleep. After he had finished, his wife said, I am sorry, I felt asleep. I didnt hear what you have said.Shiva pointed at the fish and said. Dont worry, it heard me.Then he sprinkled water on that fish then it became the fish king. The fish king had the secret of Yoga, and it taught human. That is how people know Yoga.

Then thousands of years past, eminent monks who wanted to become united with earth would meditate in forests. After living simply for some time, they realized the laws of nature Yoga from the observation of lives. Then they started to test it on human bodies. They sensed the small changes in their body gradually. People started to know how to talk to their body, explore their bodies, maintain their body healthily and cure disease and pain since then. After thousands of years of study, a complete theory, practical exercise was done. This is Yoga. There still are ascetic monk walking on the streets bare feet, wearing ragged orange cassocks and holding their mendicancy small-pot nowadays.  

A few years ago, I saw a woman practicing Yoga besides the sea on TV. She was wearing a garland. She was calm and steady. Her body languages were soothing and soft. Her name is Huilan; she is peaceful and demure. She is like an orchid, which is pure and fragrant and blooming outside this world. I think this is how a woman looks like when she practices Yoga. So I started to do Yoga in 2010, and to teach Yoga lesson. Like everybody who is practicing Yoga and wanting to practice Yoga, I had a long road. When I just began to do Yoga, even the easiest pose seemed hard. I think everybody had the same question at the beginning. I want to tell those Yoga beginners, you do not have to worry too much, all you have to do is standing on a pad and starts. Your body will change with practices.

 

 

  When I first started to do Yoga, I took it as a way exercise. Yoga could make me have a better body shape and make me a better person. My intention was that simple, and I tried my best to insist because of it. I grew to love Yoga because I saw my changes or because I insisted. I would talk about Yoga with my schoolmates and use the things I learned to help them with their physical problems such as sore waist or back and uncomfortable neck and shoulder. I felt happy and enjoyed solving their problems, and I gradually want to be a Yoga teacher. The wish to become a Yoga teacher grew stronger and stronger, so I become a Yoga teacher.

  I learn more things while teaching Yoga. I do not only teach them how to do it right, but I also need to adjust the poses I teach them according to their physical conditions. The more Yoga practicer and their needs I know, the more interest I have in Yoga Physiotherapy and Yoga philosophy. When I started to teach Yoga, and I found that I can help with their physical problems with the things I know. I am happier than them most of the time. I think they are teaching me instead of me teaching them.

  

 

  There is a lady who suffered from a severe scapulohumeral periarteritis. Every time during class, the poses need to raise arm were the most difficult ones for her. She could not sleep at night because her arms hurt sometimes. But this lady did not quit and insisted on practicing every day. Three months later, when I saw her again, she could raise her arm easily, and she could sleep well at night now. I think this is Yoga.

 There are many examples like this, but the best way to experience Yoga is to spread out a Yoga pad, practice it yourself and enjoy the heartily trip bought by Yoga.

  In the end, I want to recommend a pose which can reduce the fat on the abdomen, sides of the waist and back. The pose is Full Boat Pose.

  Sit with your knees bent and feet on the ground. Press your hands on the floor a little behind your hips, fingers pointing toward the feet.

  Then, bend your elbow slight.( You can lean back a little bit, but make sure sit on your two sitting bones). Lift your feet and shanks off the floor, and make sure they are parallel with the floor. Stretch your arms alongside your shanks when you are steady.

  If you can not be steady with your hand off the ground, you can do not move your hands. But keep your spine stretched.

  Stay in this pose for five deep breath time and then relax and rest.
